We use the latest microneedling technology to help exfoliate the skin and trigger your body’s natural healing response to get your skin to produce collagen and renew itself resulting in a more refreshed, natural, and youthful appearance in the skin without the need for invasive surgery.
Microneedling is sometimes also referred to as collagen induction therapy. Microneedling is a simple and effective treatment that introduces very fine needles that puncture the uppermost layers of the skin in order to trigger your body’s natural healing response. Part of the body’s innate healing process includes the creation of collagen. Microneedling can also produce a superficial inflammatory response that can provide an immediate plumping effect as the collagen will provide long-term benefits. Microneedling can be an excellent stand-alone treatment or used in combination with other procedures to boost your results.
Microneedling can help treat and improve many skin conditions, such as acne scarring, loose skin, skin texture, pore size, stretch marks, brown spots, pigment issues, fine lines, and wrinkles. Over time, this can dramatically improve the purity and beauty of your skin.
Microneedling treatments can safely be repeated every 4-6 weeks as you see fit and depending on the results you want to achieve. To start producing an adequate amount of collagen a minimum of 3 treatments is recommended. For acne scar treatments, patients usually start to see results within 3 – 6 treatments. Some patients benefit from regular ongoing treatments to help prevent aging.
Peeling is normal during the first few days after a microneedling treatment. Your body does this to produce a fresh and new layer of skin. The peeling is very minor and looks and feels no different than a sunburn. The peeling will subside within a few days and leave you with a refreshed youthful-looking glow.
Microneedling causes a bit of initial inflammation after the treatment. This is completely normal and will start to fade within the first few hours after your treatment. Some patients experience some pinkish color for up to 12-48 hours after their treatments. If your face stays red for longer than 48 hours you should consult a physician.
You can use hydrocortisone cream and aloe to help relieve some of the symptoms of redness and sooth the skin. Once the redness fades, it is recommended that you use coconut oil due to its antibacterial properties to help prevent acne if you had had an acne and lock in your skin’s natural moisture.
It is recommended to wait 2-3 days after your microneedling session before applying makeup again. Makeup can clog your pores and makeup brushes can contain bacteria that can be harmful to the skin if makeup is applied immediately after a microneedling session. We recommend waiting 2-3 days to be safe, and give your skin a chance to work its magic as this will give you the best results.
Do not use skin care products containing vitamin A or retinol, self-tanning sprays, or go into a tanning salon for 48 hours before your appointment, as this can significantly increase your risk for redness and inflammation. Be honest with our med spa staff about the medications you are taking, as some medications can put you at risk during a microneedling procedure.
